Sometimes when going into a world, all of the animals will be unloaded and you can only move with arrow keys (sometimes you can't move at all). If you switch animals, you will still be unloaded on screen. This is different from the unloaded animals glitch because all animals will be not loaded in. Animals on player cards and on your switch animals menu will not load when this happens. Going to a different world fixes the glitch.
